It's that time of year again--when music-focused media outlets and fans alike are looking back over the last 12 months to put together "Best of 2020" lists. Everything from albums and songs to movies and memes are being ranked, debated and deconstructed to produce each and every one.

The editors of Rolling Stone have revealed the magazine's best-of 2020 lists, and we couldn't agree more with the mag's rundown of the year's top reissues. Leading the list is the legend Prince, with the Purple Rain icon's black and peach era captured on the Sign O' the Times Deluxe Edition.

Also lauded: the legend of the Canyon herself, Joni Mitchell, and her glorious Joni Mitchell Archives --Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967) collection. The loving look back at Tom Petty's 1994 Rick Rubin-produced Wildflowers and All the Rest, is another home team title highlighted by the fine folks at Rolling Stone.

It's particularly exciting to see the 50th anniversary edition of Roberta Flack's stunning debut, First Take, showcased as one of 2020's top retrospectives: "This 1969 debut was soul’s original quiet storm, introducing a classically trained voice steeped in the church with the interpretive nerve of Nina Simone...The second CD is a breathtaking 1968 demo session with a different fire of show tunes, folk songs, and an epic transformation of the schoolgirl crush in 1967’s 'To Sir With Love.'"
