The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the Class of 2021 nominees. The artists up for induction this year:

Kate Bush, Devo, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, New York Dolls, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go's, Jay-Z, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, and Rage Against The Machine.

"This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates," Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Chairman John Sykes said in a press statement. "These nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them."

Each nominee's first single or album had to have been released in 1995 or earlier to be eligible for this year's ballot. Seven of the 16 acts on the ballot--Foo Fighters, the Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, Jay-Z, Tina Turner, Fela Kuti, and Dionne Warwick--are first time nominees. Carole King was inducted with Gerry Goffin as a non-performer in 1990. Tina Tuner was inducted back in 1991 as part of the group Ike & Tina Turner.

If King and Turner are inducted, they'll be the second and third female artists to enter the Hall of Fame twice (Stevie Nicks did it first). For Dave Grohl, he could enter the HoF's two-timers club, having already been inducted as part of Nirvana in 2014.
